Kolkata Chapter of BIMTECH Alumni Association has recently conducted election process to elect its key office bearers alongside of Annual General Meeting, which was held on 7th June 2014 at Hotel Pan Asia Continental.
Mr Partho Mukherjee of 2001-03 batch have chaired the meeting. His Name was proposed By Mr. Sourabh Sen & seconded by Mr. Saptarshi Das. The name of Mr. Partho Mukherjee was also proposed by Mr. Sourabh Sen for the post of President of the Kolkata Chapter The name of Mr. Sourabh Sen was proposed by Mr. Partho Mukherjee for the post of President of the Kolkata Chapter. After voting by Raising hands in favor of both candidates, Mr. Partho Mukherjee got 13 votes and Mr. Sourabh Sen got 5 votes. Mr. Partho Mukherjee was elected the President of the Kolkata Chapter on account of majority votes. Mr. Sumanta Rakshit, Mr. Sushil Gupta, Ms. Silva Sarkar & Mr. Saptarshi Das were proposed for the post of Vice-president by Mr. Sourabh Sen and Mr. Saket Arora. And all four were elected unanimously by the house. Mr. Sourabh Sen was proposed by Mr. Partho Mukherjee for the position of Secretary of the Chapter and he was elected unanimously. Mr. Saket Arora was proposed by Mr. Sourabh Sen & Jay Prakash Chhajer for the position of Treasurer of the Chapter and he was elected unanimously. Mr. Jay Prakash Chhajer was proposed by Mr. Sourabh Sen for the position of Joint Secretary of the Chapter and he was elected unanimously. Mr. Debarshi Ray was proposed by Ms. Silva Sarkar & Mr. Partho Mukherjee for the position of Joint Secretary of the Chapter and he was elected unanimously
After an hour long election process, the new body has decided to hold quarterly meetings of the Chapter. The body resolute to do all possible to make the Kolkata chapter a more vibrant and well network body. It was decided to form a Whatsapp Group for the Kolkata Chapter and the responsibility was taken up by Vice-president Mr. Saptarshi Das. The concept of Membership fees was also discussed and it was decided that the structure of the same would be finalized by the elected office-bearers
