Greater Noida ;Rohit Priyadarshan: The Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH), greater noida, celebrated India’s 67th Independence Day with overwhelming fervour and unmatched enthusiasm. The day began with Dr. H.C. Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH hoisting the national flag followed by the national anthem. The director addressed the students and the faculty about national integrity, unity and diversity. He stressed that students from different states are a part of BIMTECH family which is an exceptional feat in itself. He paid tribute to …..our national heroes, enlightened students about national struggle and our valued freedom.
An intra-college cultural cum business events fest, PRATIBHA’13 was organized by the students of the College. The fest celebrated freedom in the true sense, exhibiting our culture, traditions and values. The entire college was engulfed in a plethora of events including the business plan competition, best manager competition, debate etc. The students showcased their talent and the event was a huge success.
Some of the major attractions of the day were-
The best manager competition-this event tested the managerial skills of students and they came up with innovative ideas. Students charted out and discussed their business plan and the winners were declared. In the final round participants presented feasible and realistic CSR activities for the BIMTECH.
The debate competition, “Speak up”, where participants presented their opinion on the topic INDIAN youth lack clarity and are confused, cannot become beacon of hope”. There was a healthy debating and audience too played a pivotal role .Apart from questioning the participants they even gave points to the speakers. For the motion and Against the motion spoke up well and defended their opinion.
‘Bazzinga Jam’ JAM stands for Just – A –Minute and was very aptly titled “Bazzinga”. It was an event where one can test ones command over language and how well one can speak under pressure. One grammatical error, one pause or a fumble and there you go…”BAZINGA!!!” The person interjecting received extra points for valid interjections.
Literally corner organized “Wordsmith” providing students with an opportunity to display their storytelling as well as writing instincts through pictures given to them.
BIMTECH also staged a ‘Nukkad Natak’ presented by Fittoor group depicting the works of Ranganathan Society. For past two years, Ranganathan society is managing library in Dasna Jail, the play depicted the importance of a library in a Jail.
Students enjoyed enacting some of the prominent personalities in ‘Psyche Switch’. Some of the personalities they elucidated ranged from political personalities and social activists like Mr. Narendra Modi, Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Mr. Anna Hazare etc to television starlets such as Shah Rukh Khan, Rakhi Sawat.Yudhajit Roy Choudhury was declared the winner and adorned the garb of Shah Rukh Khan.
Limelight of the evening captured cultural events like FASHIONISTA, BIMTECH idol, dancing superstar etc.
Face painting, Nail-n-thread, AD-MAD, GRAFFITI, Treasure Hunt, Coffee Couple etc were some of the other attractions of the day which tested creative as well as the innovative streak amongst the students.
Thus the Independence Day celebration was an amalgamation of learning, innovative thinking, creativity and enjoyment
