I have a B. Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) Hons. from IIT Delhi in 1st division. I graduated in 1972 and joined Union Carbide India Ltd. As an Engineer Trainee and worked in their plants in Lucknow, Chennai & Calcutta till 1974 when I was selected as a Probationary Officer in State Bank of India. Worked in various branches before being posted to the Consultancy Bureau where the job included preparing Data Bank Dossiers on Hand tools industry, Sports Goods Industry in MSME sector, Techno-economic appraisal of financing proposals under Entrepreneur Scheme& nursing of sick units.

Was posted to London for 2 years at Middle Managerial Level in Negotiations department and in Branch administration of SBI’s UK branches. Worked as a Branch Manager in various important branches and as Faculty State Bank Institute of Information & Communication Management, Hyderabad.  AGM(Computer & Communication) Delhi where I was instrumental in getting a 100 branches fully computerised in one year and getting an appreciation letter from Chairman SBI for being the best performing Circle in computerisation. Worked in Joint team of SBI & GE which established SBI Credit Card  in India. Then as DGM in Lucknow Zonal Office looking after 300 branches of SBI in Central UP. Thereafter joined as Director , National Institute of Banking Studies & Corporate Management, Noida which was set for training bankers from 4 Banks viz. OBC, P&SB, J&K Bank & Nainital Bank. In 2011 joined BIMTECH as Associate Prof. Finance.
