Flavours of Punjab
“Eat well, live simply, love often” and who lives by this quote better than the Punjabis?
To give a brief but effectual glimpse of this very culture to the student body, the Food Conduit organized a Punjabi food festival called “The Flavours of Punjab”. Even though Indians are multicultural to begin with, we wish to introduce this diversity and encourage our students to embrace it through food.
The event took place on 28th September, 2015 from 8:00-10:00 pm in the campus mess. The mess was decorated in a way that made it a reminiscence of typical Punjabi Dhabha. The menu included scrumptious Punjabi fares ranging from paranthas, lassi to moong dal ka halwa. The students added more color to the festivities by dressing in the typical Punjabi attire – salwar kamiz, pajama kurta, etc. On this occasion, star performers from Mess staff were awarded token of appreciation from Director sir.
The night was made even livelier by the Punjabi music that was playing in the mess. The student body was enthralled by the steady Punjabi beats and the even the exchange students were seen shaking a leg. Undoubtedly the Indians were not to be left behind and danced up a storm to the songs that were playing.
The night was a resounding success marked by gales of laughter and sated appetites. The efforts of the Food Conduit team were widely appreciated. The team was glad that they could add color and excitement in life of the students apart from regular schedules.
