A New Chapter in the History of 25 years of BIMTECH
It all started with a vision by Director sir and under the guidance of Dr Rishi Tiwari & Sports Officer Awadhesh Kumar Shirotriya. Bimtech Cycle Club has been started in this academic year only and is engaged in regular weekend rides. So far, almost 300 KMs have been covered by Bimtech Cycle Club – Born 2 Pedal.
Cyclathon saw a more than expected participation from students as well as faculties and underscored the healthy culture of BIMTECH. The competition was for both boys & girls of 14 km and 7 km respectively. In total, 24 boys, 12 girls and 4 faculties &staff participated in the competition. Dr H Chaturvedi and Prof K.R.Chari also pedalled with students to motivate them. In the category of girls, Shreshtha Kalonia (IBM 2013-15) and Ms Himani (HR manager) stood first, Divya Singh (PGDM 2013-15) and Saloni Verma (RM 2013-15) secured second and third positions respectively. In the category of boys, Paurush Tiwari s/o Dr Rishi Tiwari, Romil Dalal (PGDM 2013-15) and Shahin Mohamed (PGDM 2013-15) secured first, second & third positions respectively.
All the winners were awarded for their achievements by honourable Director Dr H.Chaturvedi & Dy. Director Dr Anupam Varma after flag hoisting ceremony. BCC has started a unique precedence by marking the days of national importance (Independence day, republic day, Gandhi Jayanti etc) with a long cycle ride and aims to maintain it in the coming years as well.
As put out by Gaurav Muteja, a second year student who participated in the race, “I felt very happy that I completed the ride of 14 km. This made me think that I am not very lethargic. With believes and positive vibrations within you, every race can be completed. Don’t give up on you without making a try. And I continue to agree with the statement, Its journey what makes us happy, not the destination…!”
