Marathon event sponsored by Binsar farms – short term project experience by marketing (major) & Retail students
On 28th August 2016, a marathon race had been held at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, Delhi NCR, with over 600 participants of different age groups. The venue of the event was Indirapuram Habitat Centre, having the presence of sports retailer Decathlon and a fitness institute displaying their expertise to encourage the audience and participants. Beside the podium there was a small stall from Binsar Creamery, which provided nourishing refreshment for the runners.
Binsar farms, creamy fresh bottled cow milk, is a new product in the market with our alumnus Srikanth (14-16) being a co-promoter for the same. Being a newbie, the students of BIMTECH took up this event to apply their managerial and marketing skills, by providing the participants a bottle of milk and collecting feedback of their experience. In general any runner would drink water or glucose as soon as they complete their run but here this bottle of cold fresh cow milk was a nourishing substitute. Students aided in creating awareness about the brand by providing pamphlets and subscription coupons with 15% off on it along with the bottle of milk. Being on the other side of fence it was a new experience for the students to see such a massive response for milk which a very sensitive product and to market the same it requires intellectuality and Binsar had met it in such an elegant manner that they ran out of stock and the participants were requesting for more. It was indeed the best short term exposure to market realities and added to the learning for students.
