MR. AVTAR MONGA ELECTED PRESIDENT, BIMTECH MUMBAI CHAPTER
The Mumbai chapter of BIMTECH Alumni Association met on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Global Fusion, Linking Road, Bandra. It was attended by 39 Alumni from across the city. On the eve of a busy working day, many senior Alumni from batch 1995, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2004 and other batches made it to the function. After a quick round of introduction by all present the outgoing president, Mr. Nitin Kapur, batch 1995 delivered the welcome address and thanked all who those present. Kapur also updated all with initiatives taken by past executive team and called the association to elect the new office bearers. The election was conducted under the supervision of election observer from Greater Noida.
Dr. Anshul Verma Batch 2002 and Mr. Nitin Kapur jointly proposed the name of Mr. Avtar Monga, Batch 2001 for the new President of Mumbai Chapter, which was supported by all present.
Mr. Monga was declared elected unanimously and unopposed. Similar process was conducted for the post of other office bearers as well. Ms. Dipika Singh, batch 1998 was elected as General Secretary of Mumbai Chapter, where as Dr. Anshul Verma, Mr. Rahul Chandra, batch 2004 and Mr. Siddhrath Mirani, batch 2012 were also elected as Vice Presidents of the Mumbai Chapter. Ms. Neha Gupta, batch 2004 was elected as the Treasurer.
Addressing the gathering, President Mr. Monga suggested new initiatives that chapter could take up in the next 6 – 12 months. Welcoming new office bearers on board, Mr. Monga wished to work along and discussed many issues including connecting with others alumni who couldn’t come for the event. General Secretary Ms. Dipika Singh was extremely positive and envisioned of taking the chapter to a new heights and wished for support from the past office bearers and members present and in absentia, Vice President Dr. Anshul Verma spoke about the benefits from the Alumni Association and about the new initiatives the institute have taken over past 3 – 4 years. Mr. Rahul Chandra and Mr. Siddharth Mirani also gave their views while resuming the office from immediate effect. Treasurer Ms. Neha Gupta and Secy. Ms. Dipika Singh discussed charting out the Agenda from Mumbai Chapter and Alumni contribution on the financial requirements. It was also resolved that a detailed plans would be passed in the next meeting. It was proposed that next meeting will be at ITC Maratha or ITC Grand Central.

All in all, the Bombay Alumni Meet was a resounding success!
