BIMTECH organized an annual alumni meet on December 03, 2016 at Greater Noida campus. The meet was attended by more than 300 alumni along with their spouse. It was interesting to see some alumni attending the meet who travelled from Mumbai, Chennai, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Jammu among other nearby cities. The memorable event was graced by more than 1200 attendees including alumni, faculty, staff and students of BIMTECH.

The event commenced at 4.30 pm with the registration of alumni across all the programs. The guests were served with tea & cookies and an informal interaction took place between alumni, faculty, staff &  students of BIMTECH. All alumni recalled their memories of the campus and enjoyed hospitality provided by BIMTECH. The evening program started at 6.30 pm with solo singing performance by BIMTECH students Purva and Vineet who were praised & applauded by alumni for being exceptional performers equivalent to professional Bollywood stars.

The opening speech was delivered by Dr. H Chaturvedi, Director BIMTECH who welcomed and briefed the alumni about the progress of the activities undertaken by the Centre for Alumni in the last couple of years. Dr. Chaturvedi also stressed the need for more alumni engagement in future and quoted the developments of the latest Alumni Chapter meets at Dubai &  Singapore. He also announced Chapter meets across all nine chapters in India on the same day during the month of February, 2017. BIMTECH presently has over 7000 alumni globally, some of them working at senior level/strategic positions at leading Indian & Multinational countries both in India &  abroad.

The address of the Director was followed by a brief report provided by Mr. Alok Gupta, President of The Global Alumni Association of BIMTECH (GAAB). After welcoming the alumni, Mr. Gupta shared the vision of the Alumni Trust (GAAB) and discussed ways to integrate & engage BIMTECH alumnus with the institute in future. He also elaborated the activities of the Trust that would be unfolded in due course of time along with the support of the BIMTECH Centre for Alumni. A new Logo of the Global Alumni Association of BIMTECH (GAAB) was also released by Mr. Alok Gupta along with Dr. H Chaturvedi and Dr. Gagan Katiyar (Head-Centre for Alumni, BIMTECH). Some of the Senior Alumni including Mr. Jugal Kishore, Ms.Koyal Geet Kaur, Mr.Sanjay Jain, Mr. Manish Gaur, Mr. Suneet Mehra and Mr.Vikas Sikand were also felicitated by the Director, BIMTECH & the President of Global Alumni Association. Prof. Jaya Gupta, a senior faculty at BIMTECH and an alumnus of 1994-96 batch was also felicitated during the program.

The program proceeded with the engagement of RJ’s with the audience who shared humorous moments with the guests and engaged them in ice breaking activities and distributed gifts to the winners. They anchored the entire event by first inviting the famous Jugni Band who performed with thunderous music with Sufi & Bollywood songs and enthralled the audience with their charismatic performance. The band performance was followed by another Global fame standup comedian Mr. Zakir Khan who mesmerized and engaged the crowd with his comedy for more than 45 minutes.

The event was partially sponsored by the Hero Group, Samsung India &  Panasonic India. Minute to minute event performance along with the photo shoots were also uploaded on different social media platforms of BIMTECH and shared live with all other alumni globally. The entire event was conceived & managed by the student conduit of the Centre for Alumni under the leadership of Karan Malhotra (2 nd year PGDM student) and Ms. Manisha Kanodia, Manager, Centre for Alumni, BIMTECH. The overall Artist management who performed during the event was managed by Advaita Events, a company owned and run by Mr. Jitesh Khanna, an alumnus of BIMTECH PGDM batch. The event was followed by Networking Dinner and all the guests enjoyed the delicacy of an excellent prepared Indian Food &  snacks prepared by the BIMTECH Mess committee. The event concluded with lighting of 100 sky lanterns as a mark of respect for the BIMTECH alumni.
