Reflections – A Grand Alumni Carnival BIMTECH
Chief Guest Annurag Batra gives a Clarion Call to MBA Students for Entrepreneurship !
It was time for nostalgia, it was time for catching up with friends, it was time for re-visiting the alma-mater. BIMTECH Annual Alumni Meet “Reflection 2015” was held on December 6, 2015 at the BIMTECH Greater Noida Campus with lot of enthusiasm. More than 600 people from alumna community, corporate, media attended this function. Mr Annurag Batra, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief of Business World & exchange4media group addressed the gathering. His speech was well received by the audience.
Mr. Anurag Batra, the Chief Guest of the evening remarked that Alumni meet at BIMTECH was more colorful and interesting as compared to many other B-Schools. He stressed upon the fact that alumni were the real conduit with the institute and could play a meaningful role in building up the institute. In fact, they were the brand ambassadors of their alma mater. But this required passion and commitment. In the context he mentioned that dedicated efforts would effectively generate positive results. Mr. Batra reminded the august gathering about “The Last Lecture” where in a professor conscious of his impending death due to cancer continued his duty till the end and ultimately delivered his last lecture. Commitment to duty and cause was the one which motivated the professor to devote all the time at his disposal to the noble cause without diverting the available little time and energy to worldly enjoyment unlike an ordinary human being.
Dr H Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH delivered the welcome speech he audience was enthralled by a variety of cultural programmes organized by the alumni and students of BIMTECH. A total of 233 alumni participated in this grand event. Alumni from batches as old as 1990-91 to recent alumni of 2013-15 came along their families and friends came to take part in this carnival of nostalgia. There were a minute-to-win it games to engage alumni in the afternoon. There were stalls along with food, palmistry, Froosh, Retrospective Booth and Rangnathan “Vastradan” engaging and serving to the alumni throughout the event. To give them a feel of Rajasthan there was a stall for a puppet show, singers singing Rajasthani folk songs, drums and dances attracting various alumni and their families.
On the occasion of the Annual Alumni Meet, some of the former faculty and the batch members of 1993-95 were felicitated. Batch of 1993-95 has completed 20 years of journey in the corporate world. Several of them joined the felicitation online. They were from USA, UK, Canada, Australia etc.
The event gave an opportunity to the alumni to connect with Alma their mater and current students to mingle with their seniors. This provided a platform for guidance of our current students. Alumnus were more than happy to meet their old faculty and share their experiences and thoughts about the current scenario in their respective industries and ended up feeling nostalgic. The event also witnessed a band performance by our own college “BIMTECH BAND” which was appreciated by the audience including alumni, the students and faculty.
There were dance and singing performances by the BIMTECH students. Cultural performances like Bhangra to Indian classical solo performance were much enjoyed by the alumnus who were happy to see the talent of the current BIMTECH students. Solo singing performances by Krishna Yaduvanshi, Himari Das and Gunjan on various Bollywood track make the alumni swing with the tunes. The event was hosted by an RJ from Big FM named Abhinandan who kept the crowd engaged throughout the event playing various games ass fillers and got many appreciations. Comedian “Papa CJ” entertained the crowd and made the crowd laugh to their hearts out interacting with the alumnus in the audience. The event went great success with many alumni and their family enjoying and reliving those joyful moments of nostalgia.
