Overview

The PGDM – IB(International Business) at Bimtech serves as a beacon for those aspiring to thrive in the global economy. This program seamlessly combines core business disciplines with a diverse array of electives, such as Marketing, Finance, Operations, Strategy, IT, and HR. By providing a solid foundation and the option to pursue specialized electives, our curriculum is designed to develop versatile business leaders equipped to navigate the complexities of the global business environment.

  • Well-designed Course Content and Research Projects
  • The course content has been specifically designed to cover general management topics with a strong emphasis on understanding and managing International Business. The curriculum is regularly updated to align with evolving industry expectations and requirements, ensuring that it remains relevant.

Emphasis is placed on providing relevant knowledge, with most subjects incorporating research-based projects. These projects are vital for enhancing both conceptual and practical understanding, fostering an aptitude for research and innovation, and enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. Additionally, the program supports professional development through Non-Teaching Credit Courses (NTCC) and skill-based courses, which help build competencies in data analysis and technology usage to tackle modern business challenges.

  • Port Visits
  • A comprehensive understanding of International Business is incomplete without field experience at ports. Therefore, during the duration of the Program students get the opportunity to visit sea ports, dry ports, and inland container depots. These visits are organized both within India and internationally, providing students with first-hand exposure to customs procedures, export/import documentation, cargo handling, warehousing, loading, and shipment processes.

  • Regular Industry Interface
  • Eminent persons, experts, and senior practicing managers in various fields of IB are invited to deliver lectures and participate in panel discussions, seminars, etc. Seminars on contemporary issues of IB are held regularly to keep students up to date on recent developments in the field. Additionally, students are regularly sent to attend important lectures and symposiums organized by trade bodies like CII and FICCI, among others. Industry visits are also arranged in India and abroad.

  • Foreign Language
  • In international business, knowledge of foreign languages is a valuable competitive advantage. To equip students with this skill, they are offered the opportunity to take a two-trimester foreign language course in languages such as German, French etc as an elective.

  • Experiential Learning
  • Experiential learning is a vital aspect of the program, providing hands-on experience beyond traditional classroom lectures. We incorporate various experiential learning activities such as Omniglotz, which focuses on understanding foreign languages and cross-cultural nuances, and Hermes Dialogues, which features country-specific discussions on contemporary international business topics. Additionally, the program reinforces experiential learning through internships, projects, and specialized modules like “Doing Business with Emerging Markets,” “X-Culture Project,” and “Export Cluster Project.” The dissertation during the fifth and sixth trimesters is also a pivotal component of the program.
